PARTY POSTER-FUN: the Robert Fuller way…
One of the first things I noticed when I went into the room for the party for Robert Fuller was: a table just to the left of the door, and a bit further over was a little bar set-up. At that moment I saw Frank Wise, I had met him by accident the first morning I arrived. I was very surprised to see him there, and said hi. It turned out he was bar tending there for us. [He had been in the dining area of the Best Western at around 7:00am or so, on the day I arrived. (Carol was letting me use her room, until she arrived, and until I could meet up with the Wrangler Twins) One of the managers at this hotel showed me where there was a free breakfast buffet. I was able to enjoy visiting with one of the waitresses, as it was not too busy of a time for her. We had a nice visit, talking about where she was from in Mexico, cowboy hats, cowboy boots, and her little boy. Then Frank was called on to see if they were able to fix up a hard-boiled egg, instead of a whole order, etc. He was very nice about it and we had a quick talk too.] While at the party, I couldn’t figure out why he wanted to take my picture, and I thought it was a little odd…until he explained that he took professional pictures on the side. He always brought his camera to special functions he said, in case he can get some good pictures. He also gave me his card. Well, little did he know, he sure "hit the Jackpot" with us! Don’t think he ever could have guessed how very special Robert Fuller is to all of us… or… how very much we would cherish these photos!
Well…continuing on… as I turned my head more to the right, there was the most WONDERFUL poster of Robert Fuller. It was the one that I had seen pieces of in a picture or magazine OR something somewhere…I don’t even know where, but I am sure there are others who do. I think it is the one from Germany that was pieced together, but I could be mistaken. If I am please, forgive, and sent a post, so I will know where it is from. It was REALLY wonderful to see this poster. It’s Robert Fuller in GREAT FORM, "ROBERT FULLER IN ACTION", Robert Fuller FROZEN IN TIME.
I remembered all the times I had taken the most wonderful and precious pictures of my kids, by using "props" and "spur of the moment" fun. When I saw this poster I just knew it was going to be VERY special. I took a picture of the WRANGLER TWINS in front of it, and then had each one of us take turns together, so our threesome would have some fun memories. Then when the gals from Japan came we were so very happy to see each other that I took their pictures there with the poster. They had a great time with it too! They looked so beautiful and so very happy with their fancy clothes by their "cowboy"!
Well, later after Robert Fuller had arrived, I had thought that this was an opportunity that would be ONE OF A KIND, for him to be standing near "himself". I did not know if he would ever get a chance to be near this poster again, as I didn’t know who it belonged too. MAYBE it would be just as special for him as it would for me, IF I asked him to PLEASE let me take his picture with it. He was very kind and said sure. We got to take the picture TOGETHER. We took one looking at each other, and smiling, and then one looking at the camera. By then Frank was there with his camera, and I think Moira was too. Atsuko also got a really nice picture of us standing there and sent it to me. Thank you so very much, Atsuko!
Robert Fuller thought it would be nice if we both crossed our arms and put the boots out crossed. He liked his idea about the boots. So the end result was: a ROBERT FULLER CREATION….I think HE had an EXCELLENT IDEA….and it was a WHOLE LOT OF FUN and Robert Fuller was very kind and gracious…and I will always cherish the memory of him, that moment in time AND the pictures. Cinderella made it to the ball, and took a picture with the REAL cowboy himself AND his poster.
