(Overhead Title) No Marriage Before Two Years of Courtship/Engagement
(or : It is not necessary to marry before two years of engagement.)
(Caption on Photo) Robert Fuller gives good advice to all engaged couples.
(Caption Under Photo) It’s been almost two months, the gossip columnists of Hollywood began to document/write about the birth of a strong romance between the redheaded Ruta Lee -great friend of Frank Sinatra-and Bob Fuller. “Our engagement/relationship has lasted exactly two years.” He declared.
ARTICLE “ It’s about time that I’ve asserted myself and started a new system/style of life.” A smiling Bob Fuller tells us as we inspect his new mansion situated high on a hill, that cost no les than a mere sixty thousand dollars. (or more than five million pesos.) “I’ve worked hard for three years,” gathered/(said) the new Jess Harper, of the series “Laramie”.
The purchasing of the brand new/ brilliant/bright residence isn’t the only thing changing in Robert Fuller’s life. All of his acts demonstrate/ suggest that the young actor is firmly planted in his boots. (the young actor has worn his boots firmly.)
“Already in the past months.” He tells us “I’ve expanded the field of activities to include other works/roles, in addition to that accomplished in the series ‘Laramie’; with my new earnings I can purchase a special new sportscar and maybe in a year or so some horses.
It’s no big secret for anyone, that Bob is a very much in love with a new girl-the beautiful Ruta Lee, a noted TV actress , who was associated with Frank Sinatra for about a year.
Few television figures make in their private and professional lives the things that Jess Harper alias Bob Fuller makes.
--Actually,-- he remarked -I don’t have the opportunity to dedicate to the level of his new life. (I think this means he’s saying something like, he’s barely had time to adjust to his new lifestyle. Or he’s still getting used to or adjusting to his new lifestyle.) I remember when I began the role of Harper, at that time we rented a house in Toluca Lake, shared with his friends Chuck Courtney and Bill Battersby, among the three paid installments/rent/ mortgage payments? five hundred dollars a month rent. Now, he has his own house that he pays for all by himself. I’m going to live alone …until he works out an arrangement/ agreement/ engagement with Ruta…
Before Robert Fuller acquired his new mansion , you were able to call the actor the at any time of day or night. And always a different person would answer the phone!
--It was like a hotel-he told us with a smile-people wandering everywhere. (there are a vagabond of people ); friends of Courtney or Battersby, and some times mine. There were nine telephones ringing constantly. Now, there is only one--mine! I believe that I’m going to like my new form of life.
The television star’s new mansion has rooms, an ample living room, a kitchen, a great patio and a spacious view (and a view that provides amplitude) of 180 degrees in a panorama that covers all of Hollywood, San Fernando Valley, and Los Angeles.
What is the reason for what/which Bob began his campaign to reorganize his habits?
n
I am not yet considering marriage if this is that what you think/suppose-he explained to us while observing a wall constructed completely of glass, in a room where an extensive forty foot long swimming pool dominates.n
But inside of two years, he has a new house. I remember that my mother gave me advice of gold: Don’t marry simply because your in love. Love needs understanding, for shaping a good marriage. And for this reason (one should) know your/one’s future wife well which requires two years of engagement at least.
My father spoke wise words of truth. I think I’ll follow them exactly-to the letter-he continues--. I am earning/gaining enough money. This is the fourth year that I’ve been doing the series. I have planned a system of saving , not to squander my money as in the past/I have done formerly. My parents have also purchased a lovely house near mine. I have helped them set up/ arrange(?) the furniture.
Although Fuller has abandoned his lifestyle of night club after nightclub, generally in competition with other mechanical aficionados. (Drag race, perhaps?) Something he is passionate about.
“I myself have spent a great deal (of time and money??) on my new motor cycle, it’s the last word (the latest-greatest?) vehicle of it’s type, the other day I went to ‘prove it’ (show what it could do) with his fiancé to the San Fernando Valley and we spent the entire day ‘riding the local circuit.
“I have taken/hired a care-taker to show me everything. But he doesn’t just care for the car and motorcycle, he maintains the garage and keeps it in order.
Bob hasn’t had time to decorate the palace where he lives. But this has happened/resulted in interesting him in other works other than ‘Laramie’. Not long ago/ before long he’ll make/ perform in a dramatic work in the National theatre.” He tells us. “The director likes my work very much and invited me to go to New York, offered me right there a new hour-long show. Luckily very soon during my 30-day vacation from the series I can fly to New York to firm up the specifics in this debut venture.
Also, Review Studios, the company that films ‘Laramie’, has given/ offered him a huge starring role in seven films, once it has filmed the fourth season of ‘Laramie.’
“I am very much in agreement with my directors, and with the series in general.” Fuller tells us. “And consequently, looking at life with more clarity. I can assure them that they are seeing a new Robert Fuller…
